Traveling in South Korea can be an eye opening experience for everyone. There are an endless number of attractions throughout the country, including the scenic Jeju Islands that are popular with honeymoon couples, temples and Asian palaces. Even though a large part of the South Korea peninsula is made up of mountainous regions, you will never find it physically challenging to see the country. This is in part, thanks to a well planned and efficient transport system that stretches all over its various provinces and city centers.

However, enjoying a holiday in South Korea can be an expensive exercise as well. The economic boom that the country enjoyed in the 1990s and early 2000s led to increased affluence. This in turn resulted in unavoidable higher costs of living, even as the currency strengthened over time. Therefore, if one were to make a trip to the beautiful Land of the Morning Calm, he or she would be well advised to plan and budget the trip with that in mind. There are definitely many ways that one can still have a fun holiday in South Korea, without having to burn holes in their pockets.

One of the best ways is to plan an itinerary that focuses on the various interesting sights and locations that do not require entrance fees, or at least low ones. No one can claim to have visited South Korea without having visited the many fascinating temples that have a long history and tradition in the country. There is no need for any entrance fees at temples, and you will enjoy the aura of peace and tranquility that surrounds them. Seoul, the capital of South Korea, has other attractions that are also free to visit and will occupy you for the best part of several days, including the amazing Namdaemun Gate, the many palaces such as Gyeongbok-gung and the tranquil parks, with Yongsan Park a popular choice.

If there is one thing that could easily add up on your South Korea travel expenses, it would be that of food. Part of the reason would be the limitless choice of delicious cuisines that one would find hard to turn down. But food in South Korea is expensive, especially so in Seoul. As much as possible, try to dine in the various food stalls or small eateries that can be found anywhere, as prices are much lower, with great hospitality. Restaurants offer more professional services, but the bill can be exorbitant in many cases. But the great thing about dining in South Korea is that there is always more than enough to go around with each meal.

Finding an affordable place to stay during your trip can make a huge difference to your overall budget. South Korea is similar to Japan, in the sense that accommodations can be pricey. But there are hotels or serviced apartments that are relatively cheaper, and offer the same high level of services and amenities. In Seoul, there is the budget chain of serviced apartments known as the Co-Op that is popular with travelers who seek comfortable accommodations at low cost. For example, the Western Co-Op Residence Serviced Apartments, situated right in the bustling Dongdaemun, is one of the top hotel picks for tourists in South Korea. Their availability makes it easier to book cheap Seoul hotels, saving you money.

There are many other money saving tips one can have for traveling in South Korea. Every little detail helps, and while it might require some time to prepare ahead of the trip, the rewards are well worth the effort.

It is important to plan your vacation before packing your bags and driving to the airport especially when your destination is a place like Paris. Paris offers an amazing range of activities and you don’t want to waste your time in the City of Lights. Paris has so much to offer you won’t want to waste a minute. Of course you would want a worthwhile stay in the very famous city. Before your flight, you should first consider where to stay. There are many options and cover all price ranges - whether you need a 5-star luxury or a just a central Paris hostel.

For cheaper accommodation, you may want to consider a Paris apartment. An apartment can offer more freedom and feel more comfortable than a formal hotel. The next thing to plan is what to visit after billeting in your Paris apartment.

There are lots of places to visit when you are in Paris; from the most historic to most contemporary. Your vacation in Paris will be memorable when you carefully considered and plan what part of the city you will visit. Historical structures and buildings are sprinkled inside the city that you should not miss. There are also a lot of museums that display historical art pieces up to the most modern creations. Of course the city is renowned for its restaurants and food. Shopping completes the list of activities that will make your stay in Paris meaningful.

No one will forget to visit the symbol of Paris which is the Eiffel Tower. This 320-meter tower is well recognized in the whole world as a symbol of the city of Lights and as well as the whole country of France. The Eiffel tower was built for the 1889 Word Fair. It is a very fulfilling experience to climb the top of the tower for you will be able to see the whole of Paris during the day or at night. That’s a fair few stairs and at least you will sleep well that night in your central Paris hotel.

It is becoming increasingly common to see that many of the new, smaller, hotels are describing themselves as a “Boutique Hotel”. Across the city of London, the capital city of England in the United Kingdom, there are now a small number of superb boutique hotels but what exactly is a “Boutique Hotel” and where did they first appear?

Commonly boutique hotels are owned and run by small organizations, families or couples. However, there has been a recent trend for some of the larger hotel chains to build hotels to meet the specific demand for these hotels so this distinction may not hold true for much longer! One statement that is true for all boutique hotels is that they feature unique elements of decoration and style and, in many cases, this is based upon a specific theme. Such themes can range from a hotel decorated and furnished in the 17th Century style to one which is focused on chocolate for avid chocoholics. Sometimes a boutique hotel may feature rooms which have different themes to each other with no overall theme but this is rare.

Where Was The First Boutique Hotel?

Boutique hotels first appeared in the late 1980s in New York USA. Although some hotels claim to have been boutique hotels as far back as 1981 in places such as London UK and San Francisco the first hotel to be described as such was the ‘Morgans’ hotel, New York, in 1984. These earlier claimants were, therefore, subsequently described as such and can not, realistically, claim to be the first.

‘Morgans’ hotel was owned by Steven Rubell and Ian Schrager who had commissioned the Parisian designer Andrée Putman to create a unique, highly stylized, hotel in New York. Putman created the hotel in what has become known as an “America meets Europe” fashion. Steven Rubell set out to promote his hotel and to do this he needed to make his hotel stand out from all others, especially those belonging to the large hotel chains. He described other hotels as “department store” hotels and his own as a “boutique hotel” to show the distinctive difference - thus the phrase entered the English language for the first time.

Interesting Boutique Hotels in the United Kingdom

42 The Calls (hotel) in Leeds claims to be one of the first to appear in the UK. The Calls was a hotel built in the carcass of an old corn mill and used that as the overall theme. The hotel is well known for featuring superb, and extremely comfortable, hand crafted beds in each room and, interestingly, it also has some of the old corn mills original machinery.

The Blake’s Hotel in South Kensington, London, is often quoted as being one of the first boutique hotels in the world but, although this appeared before Morgans in New York, for the reasons outlined above this claim is often dismissed. Over the last few decades there have been a number of boutique hotels appearing across the United Kingdom in such diverse places as the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland but the largest number have opened in London.

If you are planning a trip to, or a vacation in London and you are considering booking a boutique hotel you may wish to check out the listings of boutique hotels in London at http://www.londonhotelhelper.com/

When you are planning to take a vacation, you will begin to notice how much it can all cost. For a lot of people, this can be a tight squeeze for the yearly household budget. Whenever possible, it is great to get discounts, including discounts on your hotel reservations or cash in on specials for anything relating to your vacation. There are a lot of ways to save on your vacation by planning everything ahead of time.

The sooner you can begin to make arrangements for your trip the better, as you will benefit from discounted flight rates and accommodation. By taking certain steps, you are more likely to get discount hotel reservations and there are several ways people can take advantage of these special deals. Some hotels offer special prices for the elderly, or to families, where children are free. Discount hotel reservations are also given to people who hold emergency roadside assistance cards and with these cards, travelers can also benefit from a lot of other discounts.

If you are one of the people who fall into the category of those without emergency roadside assistance cards, who are not elderly, and who do not have children, you may still want to get discount hotel reservations to save money.

How does one go about saving money and getting the deals that you deserve? Simply by using resources that have always been at your disposal, you can get the best rates available.

There are two ways to book hotel rooms and that is by calling them yourself or going through one of the very popular sites that will make the booking for you. You can receive special discount hotel reservations that you otherwise would not have received, by booking through a special site.

There is a place that asks you how much you want to pay and then the site will search hotels willing to let you have a room for that amount. These hotels are willing to slash prices in order to get business and a customer who gets discount hotel reservations are generally pretty happy repeat customers, wouldn’t you agree!

Buying Hotel Furniture

Buying Hotel Furniture

There is just something about hotel furniture that screams vacation, as they all seem to be the same. You have your basic dressers, tables and chairs, which despite a few different patterns; have much the same look to them. A lot of the mid grade hotels, even though the buildings have different names, purchase the same basic hotel furniture.

This is either an industry standard and they feel that the particular style of hotel furniture they use is what all the guests require, or there is a law that says all hotel furniture must be plain, stiff and smell like new. It does make people wonder how those chairs at the little table always look new. People have to use them at some point, so how are they maintained? Maybe they have great room cleaners, or maybe these items are put together so well that they can maintain their appearance for years.

If you are impulsive you may find yourself purchasing things before you think about it. Believe it or not there are people who love to purchase hotel furniture and they do so with great success. Where they end up finding their great deals we may never know, but their houses are filled with things that look like they just came straight out of the local hotel and there are people who can really pull off that look and make you believe it is modern décor, instead of the hotel look.

There are websites out there if you look hard enough that sell hotel furniture, which means if you see something you like, you can purchase it brand new. Another great way to get yourself moving in the right direction, you can always ask the hotel manager where they purchased their hotel furniture from and through them, maybe you can get that special something you have been eyeing.

Hotel Reviews - Real or Bogus

When you want to book reservations at a quality hotel, it is important to find out as much as you can about the hotels that are available in the area where you plan to stay, prior to making your reservations. In order to do this, you will want to find hotel reviews on each of the available accommodation. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to know which hotel reviews can be trusted and which have been purchased by the hotels themselves.

This is not new, as businesses have been paying for positive reviews of their companies for decades. It’s quite a brilliant strategy, but if you’re looking for honest hotel reviews, it can be difficult to distinguish the personal hotel reviews from the paid-for hotel reviews. Distinguishing between the two does take a little bit of work and practice, but if you don’t mind doing a bit of homework before you make your final decision, learning to tell the difference isn’t really that hard.

Recognizing Paid Reviews

Look to see what medium they have been posted on. Many people are paid to post glowing hotel reviews on blogs and other user-generated content sites. If these are the types of sites you are looking at, start by checking the user name of the person who has left the review. If you find several hotel reviews all made by the same user, or made by someone named “Anonymous”, you can almost guarantee that the hotel reviews have been paid for. The majority of hotel reviews posted by actual travelers will have their real names attached, or at least their first names and last initial.

Deciding whether the hotel reviews are honest, run key phrases within the reviews themselves through your favorite search engine and see just how many times the same review appears on the internet. Once you have done this a few times, you’ll be better able to spot paid hotel reviews. Whenever you search for a particular hotel, look to see how many of the descriptions in the search engine results look the same or similar.

There are plenty of honest hotel reviews out there for you to find. Learn to ignore the paid ones. Once you can tell the difference between the types of hotel reviews, you should have no trouble picking a hotel for your next trip.

The Disneyland Hotel is the natural choice for a Disneyland vacation, as the magic continues when you leave the theme park and return to your hotel room for the night.

Guest rooms at the Disneyland Hotel are available as standard rooms, suites, or club rooms. All three types of rooms enjoy the following as standard amenities:

Non-smoking.

King-size bed, or two queen-size beds.

High speed internet access.

Room services.

Voicemail on in-room phones.

Cribs and roll away beds on request.

Free Disney channel and ESPN on in-room TVs

Irons, ironing boards and refrigerators.

Make-up mirrors and safes.

Standard rooms are full of details that refer back to Disneyland stories and characters. Suites are available with one, two, or three bedrooms, to meet every family’s needs.

Club level guests receive extra amenities like priority check-in, Continental breakfast, wine and cheese cocktail hour, nightly turndown service and DVD players with complimentary movies.

Perhaps the best benefit of staying at the Disneyland Hotel when you visit Disneyland is that you can return to the park after visiting your room. Take the kids back to the hotel for an afternoon nap, or eat a meal or two in your room to save money, then go right back to the park as if you’d never left.

Disneyland Hotel restaurants are almost as much fun as the theme park. Visit the Captain’s Galley poolside, the Coffee House for your morning latte, Croc’s Bits ‘n’ Bites in the Never Land Pool area, Goofy’s Kitchen when you’re really hungry, Steakhouse 55, a classic American steakhouse, Hook’s Pointe for mesquite grilled “surf and turf,” the Lost Bar, where you can get a cocktail and the wine cellar, where you can sample California’s finest chardonnays, pinots and other flavorful wines.

Besides the theme park, the Disneyland Hotel offers plenty of recreation for your family. Koi fish ponds, cove pools, a volleyball court and beach, remote-control boats, waterfalls and a fitness center are all experiences for hotel guests.

You can check in when you arrive and avoid long lines; then go to your room anytime after three o’clock p.m. If you get to the hotel before 3:00, just check your luggage at the desk and go to Disneyland for awhile.

Check out by eleven o’clock in the morning. Again, feel free to check your bags with the desk while you enjoy another day at Disneyland before you go back home.

The Crown Plaza Hotel, conveniently located just a mile and a half from San Francisco International Airport, is the perfect hotel for the business traveler.

The Crown Plaza Hotel is serious about your sleep. They know how important it is for the business or leisure traveler to get a good night’s sleep in San Francisco and they have focused a great deal of attention and resources on making sure you get a better night’s sleep at the Crown Plaza Hotel than in any other hotel in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Crown Plaza Hotel Sleep Advantage Program

The Crown Plaza Hotel’s Sleep Advantage Program combines a variety of features devoted to helping you sleep better, from the bed in your room to the placement of your room in the hotel. The hotel’s goal is to “create the optimal sleeping experience” in San Francisco hotels.

The Hotel’s luxurious rooms feature new beds with pillow-top mattresses, duvet bedspreads, sheets with a high thread count and plenty of pillows. In addition, several floors of the Crown Plaza Hotel are reserved as a “Quiet Zone” for business travelers who must have a good night’s sleep. Quiet Zone rooms are well insulated against noise and no children are allowed in Quiet Zones. Housekeeping will not start cleaning rooms in the Quiet Zone until after 10 o’clock a.m.

Every hotel room includes a sleep CD with relaxation tips. Guests, who have a hard time getting to sleep because of jet lag or stress about business meetings and presentations, can drift off to sleep using proven mind relaxation techniques.

Even with all these sleep amenities, guests at the Crown Plaza Hotel need never worry about missing an important meeting or flight due to oversleeping. The Hotel provides a guaranteed wake-up call. Your room is free if you don’t receive the wakeup call within five minutes of the designated time. There’s no need for you to figure out local time and set your cell phone alarm, but if you’re a Type A personality who needs to be doubly sure of waking up on time, you can set your own alarm and use the Hotel’s wake-up call as a backup.

Other Sleep Advantage Program amenities include black-out draperies and drapery clips in every room to block out light when you need to sleep and earplugs to ensure silence – even the Quiet Zone can’t keep your spouse from snoring! The Crown Plaza Hotel also provides lavender scented aromatherapy sprays to promote drowsiness and a nightlight so you can find your way to the bathroom in the dark.
